YZDVD is a simple-to-use software DVD player combining all the features you would expect to find in a standard consumer DVD player.
Main features are:
- A complete set of visual effects controls, including contrast, brightness, hue, saturation, gamma and sharpness.
- Keyboard controls (Hot Keys) for frequently used DVD operations.
- Selectable DVD directories to play ripped DVD movies from any hard drive or CD/DVD drive.
- Multiple playback speed for forward and reverse, including very slow forward (0.1x), slow forward (0.3x), half forward (0.5x), and normal reverse (-1.0x), etc...
- Increase/decrease playback speed at intervals of 1.0x.
- Pop up menu controls by right mouse click.
Using YZDVD
Viewing a DVD Title
To view a DVD title, put the disc into the DVD drive. Start YZDVD, click
on the tool bar, or select "play" from the menu within the YZDVD window.
Viewing a ripped DVD Title on hard drive

To view a ripped DVD title on hard drive. Start YZDVD, select "select disc..." from the file menu within the YZDVD window. It brings up a common file dialog to ask the user for the video_ts.ifo file.
YZDVD Controls
Once YZDVD is launched and active, use the controls shown on the YZDVD tool bar to navigate through the DVD Title. The YZDVD controls are designed to look like controls on a standalone DVD player.

select "adjustment..." from the option menu within the YZDVD window, or from the pop up menu in the display window.
These six visual effects adjustments may not be all supported on your graphics card. Not supported visual effects are shown as disabled sliders.
The Right-Click Menu
While you are viewing a movie, you can put the cursor on the display window and right-click to see a "video menu".

- Adjustment... - Opens the Video/Audio controls window.
- Play - Plays the current title, restores play at speed 1.0x.
- Stop - Stops the current playback.
- Pause - Pauses the current playback.
- Step - Plays one frame forward.
- Mute - Mutes the sound on the disk currently playing.
- Root Menu- Shows root menu selections.
- Title Menu- Shows title menu selections.
- Previous Chapter - Jump to the previous chapter.
- Next Chapter - Jump to the next chapter.
- Replay Chapter - Replays the current chapter.
- Title - Shows title information.
- Chapter - Shows chapter selections.
- Angle - Shows angle selections.
- Normal Forward - Plays forward at speed 1.0x.
- Very Slow Forward - Plays forward at speed 0.1x.
- Slow Forward - Plays forward at speed 0.25x.
- Half Forward - Plays forward at speed 0.5x.
- 4x Forward - Plays forward at speed 4x.
- 8x Forward - Plays forward at speed 8x.
- 16x Forward - Plays forward at speed 16x.
- Normal Reverse - Plays backward at speed 1.0x.
- 4x Reverse - Plays backward at speed 4.0x.
- 8x Reverse - Plays backward at speed 8.0x.
- 16x Reverse - Plays backward at speed 16.0x.
- Faster - Increase the current playback speed by 1.0x
- Slower - Decrease the current playback speed by 1.0x
- Exit - Closes YZDVD.

Requirements
- DirectX8 or higher. (There is no need to install DirectX8 on a Windows XP system, since irectX8.1 is packaged and installed with Windows XP
- MPEG-2 Codec. At present YZDVD is not packaged with a MPEG2 codec. You must install a third-party DirectShow-compatible MPEG-2 decoder, either software or hardware-based. Please contact your DVD or PC manufacturer for a MPEG-2 decoder. If you are able to view DVD movies with your current setup, YZDVD is using your existing MPEG-2 codecs.
