Norinco NP-40, roughly made but accurate

Norinco NP-40, one of the Chinese copies of the CZ75/85 series. It's heavy, roughly made, got a sub-standard finish. But it's quite accurate! My NP-40 has a very strong recoil spring, therefore, it's kind of hard to open the action at the beginning. To fix this, I kept the action open and stored it this way in Gun Safe for months!

Dominion Arms Grizzly Shotgun - 12.5

This is my latest toy, a "Dominion Arms" Grizzly Shotgun, 12.5" barrel with ghost ring sights. It can hold 4 shells in the tube magazine and one in the barrel, total 5 shells capacity.

I'm not quite sure why it's named "Grizzly". I'm quite sure I can kill a grizzly with it if I have to. Again, It's a cheap gun made in China. I'm surprised by it's nice finish, better than I expected. Ghost Ring plus short barrel, nice tactical configuration, good for home defense.

Need to fight aliens? Go get a Chinese made AR-15:-)

Chinese made M4 range result

I recently bought a new Chinese made AR-15 (M4) rifle. Its model name is "CQ-A5.56", which means "close quarter assault". It has a short barrel, adjustable 6 position tactical stock, and a bayonet lug. Ideal configuration for close quarter combat. It is a lot cheaper than western made AR-15s. Which is good, I can use the saved money to buy extra 2000 rounds ammo for more practice. The finish does not look as good as any western made M4 though.

The manual is kind of amusing. On the front page, there are a few UFOs floating in some kind of alien world! Maybe Chinese think their cloned AR-15s are such high tech weaponry that they can be used to fight aliens?

The manual is written in a funny way. I can imagine how this is done by a Chinese technical writer with a Chinese-English dictionary open in his hand:-) One thing is clear, they are quite proud of its capabilities. Here it goes:

CQ-A5.56mm automatic rifle is an automatic or semi-automatic weapon for infantry to kill individuals or group active objects. The rifle is characterized with light weight, high cyclic firing rate, easy operation, more cartridge-carrying and makes the operator enjoy a better annihilating firepower within 460m.

How to Field strip Beretta 92 FS

Beretta 92 FS is a nice semi auto. It's very easy to field strip, never jams. The only problem is its long trigger pull. Even in single action mode, the trigger pull still feels a bit too long.

My first SKS rifle

neutr1n02001's picture

I bought a Norinco SKS rifle recently. Unissued military, spike Bayonet, chrome lined bore. The gun was soaked in cosmoline. Serial number starts with "16". So it's quite possible it's built in 1972, in the middle of Chinese Culture Revolution. What a piece of history!

I went to Canadian Tire, bought some paint thinner, and brake cleaner. Spent a whole half day, disassembled it, cleaned off the cosmoline and reassembled it back. The bore looked great. The spike bayonet was long and sharp. The stock was a piece of junk. Couldn't wait to shoot it. But I didn't have high expectations on anything produced during Culture Revolution.
