My Lucky shot

Another difficult day for shooting Glock 17 at 25 meters

It's a rainy day, and windy as well. I was trying Glock 17 and Norinco M14. Norinco M14 is a heavy battle rifle, it takes quite a bit of muscle strength to operate. A good exercise for me that day, I still felt the muscle pain two days later. I can understand why US army replaced it with M16.

But it was powerful and accurate! I can hit a head sized target 50 meters away and chest sized target 100 meters away easily, with just iron sight.

As for Glock, it's a good pistol, accurate and reliable. But I don't like the grip. I prefer full metal guns like Beretta or SIG.

As usual, I practiced my pistol shooting at 25 meters. For the last target change, I only got 5 bullets left. So I stapled only one target on top of the existing papers. I decided to fire my last 5 bullets with single hand. One of the bullets went right through the center. I overheard a few guys saying that I was practicing pistol competition shooting:-) . Right now, I'm just doing it for relaxation. But maybe I should join some competition shooting someday!

M-14 or M-16

M14 or M16? This is the question.

Easy to answer, because for me, I have both.

Norinco M14

After two years wait, I have finally received the Norinco M14/M305 rifle last week. It's Chinese clone of M14/M1A battle rifle, but 75% cheaper.

The finish looks great once I removed all the oil from the rifle. But the rear sight windage knob was stuck. I gave up and decided to dissemble it. During the process, the windage knob started to work as designed! I just don't understand, don't they do quality check on each gun before it leaves the factory?

Looking for maintenance tips on M14 at you_tube. I found the following video clips. Very useful.
