What has government done to our money?

neutr1n02001's picture

This is a truly enlightening book. It is written in a very convincing, logical, common sense way. 100% pure gold standard may very well be the cure for all the economic ills in this world.

2012 is approaching, people say this could be a big transforming/transcendental year for humanity. I wonder what could it be. Could a monetary revolution to gold/silver standard be part of it?

Inside Job

Watched the documentary "Inside Job". Nice film. What I get from the film is:
1, Bankers are not to be trusted.
2, Bankers are the guys who are really in charge.
3, Bankers are greedy and aim to rob people's money.

The possible solution to this? I say, get out of their rigged game, unplug from the MATRIX! Buy gold and silver!

The film partly blames the deregulation of the financial services, which I don't fully agree. It's the purpose of the deregulation that matters. If the government deregulates because it wants to get out of the way, then deregulation is a good thing. And when the big banks fails, don't bail them out!

On the other hand, if the government deregulates because its banker masters order it so, then deregulation is a bad thing. And in this case, I'm not surprised that in the end the government bails out its banker masters.

Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End of this Universe

I've finished the book "Alpha and Omega: The Search for the Beginning and End of the Universe". I borrowed the book from Vancouver library and renewed it twice. I read it from the beginning to the end, from the first page to the last page, not one page skipped. It is a well-written book! It has upgraded my understanding of the modern cosmology to the 21st century!

Old books on hyper-inflation demanding hyper-inflated prices

neutr1n02001's picture

I heard from one of my favorite economics radio show that a book called "Dying of money" is asking for astronomical prices on eBay and amazon. Some European bankers are buying up the rare copies of these old books on hyper-inflation. These are just rumors. I don't quite understand why anybody wants to spend that amount of money to get a paper copy while you can download or read an electronic version on line for free.

Here's my conspiracy theory:-) Some people want to get rid of these books completely. They will buy any copies they can find at any price and burn them afterwords. They are afraid of the messages in these books.

The hyper-inflation is caused by the money velocity. The money velocity increases and accelerates when more and more people feel the effects of inflation and act on it. When enough people realize what's happening and take actions to preserve their wealth, the critical mass is reached, and the money melt down starts.

I'm reading these books right now. If there's any important messages in the books, I don't want to miss them. I want to be prepared.

The Next 100 Years, 21st Century is still America's Century?

neutr1n02001's picture

I've just finished reading the book "The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century". I agree with the main idea. That is: America is not declining as many predict, America is just beginning its rise. The ancient Roman Republic lasted 482 years until Caesar and Augustus turned it into Roman Empire. United States has only been around for 234 years, not even half of the age of Roman republic.

I like author's way of comparing political leaders playing world affairs to chess masters playing chess games. Although it may appear there are many possible moves, but many of them are bad moves and can be eliminated right away. The choices left are only a few. This is how future may be predicted. This reminds me of my favorite science fiction series "Foundation" by Issac Asimov. Of course, here we are assuming the world leaders are chess masters and they only make rational moves. This can be true most of the time. They don't become world leaders if they don't have some skills.
