Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End of this Universe

I've finished the book "Alpha and Omega: The Search for the Beginning and End of the Universe". I borrowed the book from Vancouver library and renewed it twice. I read it from the beginning to the end, from the first page to the last page, not one page skipped. It is a well-written book! It has upgraded my understanding of the modern cosmology to the 21st century!

I like the author's writing style. Reading his science book is like reading a detective story. Very logical. Maybe it's due to his Mathematics background. He has this rare ability to not only describe what, but also why and how, in a plain natural language style, with no math formula involved. Amazing!

However, this book is just a start for me. In my opinion, there are too many questions, too many holes in this modern cosmology, not author's fault though, he's just a messenger, and a very good one. Now I know this Universe has a violent beginning, maybe a silent cold death in the future; but why does it exist at all? Is there a creator? If the Universe itself is not eternal, where is the eternity? I'm not very sure if science can ever answer these kind of questions. However, I will keep searching and reading.

Buddha used to tell people, "Why do you want to know how this arrow is made? Take it out of your body to end this pain and suffering first!" Well, he's right. But for me, I haven't felt the pain yet, and I'm a very curious person. What a world we live in, can't somebody just tell me the truth of everything?

I've downloaded this author's new book, "Decoding the Universe: How the New Science of Information Is Explaining Everything in the Cosmos, from Our Brains to Black Holes". Sounds like this book may have the answers I'm searching for. I think I will give it a read.
